WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

In today’s dynamic world of business, politics, culture, and entertainment, organizations need skilled professionals to communicate their interests and concerns to an increasingly complex and sophisticated public. This has created a growing demand for university graduates with specialized training across diverse areas of Public Relations. Currently, many of these roles are filled by graduates from other disciplines. To bridge this gap, there is an urgent need for focused, professional training in Public Relations to meet industry demands and respond passionately with innovative ideas and skills.

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS, TEAM PRAD! 🎉

The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies warmly congratulates the Head of Department and members of Team PRAD on Rivers State University’s impressive performance at the AIC 4.0 Creative Pitch Contest, organised by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).

Competing against leading universities across Nigeria, the RSU team emerged Second Runner-Up, winning a cash prize of ₦500,000 with their campaign, “Make We Meet”, built around the powerful tagline:

“The More We Meet, The Less We Divide.”

The campaign addressed the theme of social cohesion, shared values and national identity, proposing creative strategies to promote dialogue, unity, and a stronger sense of collective Nigerian identity.

Our student representatives — Victoria Michael, Hart Marvelous Sotonye, Ogunsemowo Moyinoluwa Elizabeth, Ordu Wilson Stella, and Onosejele Ifeanyichukwu Ehiguese — made the Faculty and University proud through their creativity, professionalism, and innovative thinking.

We are particularly pleased that the award was formally presented to the Vice-Chancellor today, marking another proud moment for FCMS and RSU.

Congratulations to the HOD, Team PRAD, the student team, and everyone who contributed to this outstanding achievement.
